The Mike’s Kitchen concept was founded by Mike Illion in 1972 when he opened the first Mike’s Kitchen restaurant in Greenside, Johannesburg. Over the course of the next thirty years the brand has changed hands several times and Garry Corney took ownership of the brand in 1999. Garry was dedicated to his vision of steering Mike’s Kitchen to new levels of success, embracing the challenge with drive and passion. After his sudden passing his wife, Judy, took on the challenge of seeing Garry’s dream for the Mike’s Kitchen brand to fruition. Teresa Robert is currently the Operations Director and Jonathan Eagar heads up Development and Procurement.
